PRODUCTION



General.

As is the norm with all production of food/wine by reputable suppliers both in the developed and the developing world, BASE producers all subscribe to the various quality assurance systems such as HACCP, Fair Trade and Eurepgap.

Implementation of these systems is, of course, a must for acceptance by major retailers and end users of all food products.

Fruit and vegetables.

The fruit and vegetable products exported by BASE are produced primarily in the fruit growing areas of Mpumalanga and the Western Cape of South Africa, as well as a few growing areas elsewhere in the world.

The producers are all leading growers of excellent quality fruit and vegetables, which are grown by the most modern production methods.

Wine

The wine exported by BASE is all produced at one of the leading Swartland Cellars, which happens to be one of the most modern cellars in South Africa, and which conforms to world standards.

The wine is produced both under BASE's house brand
"First Rains", as well as under the various leading brands produced in the area.

One of the best selling brands being exported to New York, by BASE, is the leading "Swartland" brand.

Local Wines.

The local brands sold are the various brands of the local and export producers who have excess stocks for a variety of reasons, and the BASE owned brand "Naked Grape."

Local sales are undertaken by agents and distributors in Gauteng and in Cape Town.
